goodmorningpapua.com – The Yetetkun Integrated Cross-Border Post (PLBN) has been completed and is ready to be inaugurated. Yetetkun PLBN is located in Boven Digoel Regency, Papua.
The construction of this PLBN began in February 2020 and was completed in June 2022 by the Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center (BPPW) of the Papua Province Directorate General of Human Settlements. As for the contractors themselves, namely PT Nindya Karya (Persero) and MK PT Ciriajasa Engineering & Management Consultant (CEC) with a physical value of Rp 127.5 billion.
The development of PLBN is one of the efforts of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) to reduce disparities and equalize infrastructure development, especially in border areas.
PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the building of the Yetetkun PLBN is not only the pride of the Indonesian nation as a great nation, but the most important thing is the defense and security function and at the same time as the center of new economic growth in the Indonesia-Papua New Guinea (PNG) border area.
“The development of the PLBN is not only an entry gate but also the embryo of a regional economic growth center that can improve the welfare of border communities,” Basuki said in a written statement, Monday (15/08/2022).
In addition to the construction of the PLBN, the Ministry of PUPR has also improved the quality of the border road (Trans Papua) on the Merauke-Boven Digoel section to strengthen the connectivity of the border area. This connectivity support makes it easier for the community to carry their agricultural products to sell at the National Boundary Peg, where the surprise market is usually held.
Meanwhile, with the construction of this PLBN, the Head of the Papua Province Border Management and Foreign Cooperation Agency, Suzana Wanggai, said that she hopes that this PLBN can become an economic center for the people of Boven Digoel Regency.
“We are creating a new economic center in the PLBN area, so we have to look at the opportunities that exist,” said Suzana.
It should be noted that until August 2022 the Ministry of PUPR has completed seven PLBNs in accordance with Presidential Instruction No. 6 of 2015 namely PLBN Entikong, PLBN Aruk, and PLBN Badau in West Kalimantan, PLBN Motaain, PLBN Motamasin, PLBN Wini, and PLBN Skouw in Papua.
It was followed by four other PLBNs in accordance with Presidential Instruction No. 1 of 2019 concerning the Acceleration of Development of 11 Integrated Cross-Border Posts and Supporting Infrastructure in Border Areas. The PLBNs are the Sota PLBN in Merauke, the Sei Pancang Integrated PLBN in North Kalimantan, the Serasan PLBN in the Riau Islands and the Napan PLBN in East Nusa Tenggara.
Meanwhile, the building of the Yetetkun Integrated PLBN is carried out by the Papua Province Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center (BPPW) of the Directorate General of Human Settlements, which is divided into core and sub-core zones.
The scope of work in the core zone includes the main PLBN building, checkpoints, gate posts, TNI posts, power houses, mechanical electrical and plumbing (MEP), procurement of X-Ray and Thermal Detection equipment, and portals.
Meanwhile, for the sub-core zone, employee houses and supporting zones will be built such as stalls (economic centers), landscaping, and other infrastructure such as waste processing sites and provision of toilets.
