goodmorningpapua.com – The Yapen Islands Regency Government, Papua provides a budget assistance in the form of grant funds for the building of the Peniel Church of Rp. 1.5 billion.
The assistance was handed over directly by the Regent of the Yapen Islands Tonny Tesar after worshiping with the congregation at the Indonesian Christian Church (GKI) Pniel Yapen, Monday, 9 August 2021.
In addition to handing over aid, Regent Tonny Tesar asked the congregation in any church denomination to continue to comply with the Yapen Government regulations regarding the implementation of Worship during the Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM).
“Please pray, do activities. But it is limited and it remains to wear masks. I also express my condolences to all the families who have lost due to Covid-19,” Tonny said.
Tonny Tesar also expressed his gratitude to the people who have complied with the health protocols for helping the Regional Government suppress the spread of Covid-19.
In fact, the number of Covid-19 cases in the Yapen Islands continues to decline. “We should be grateful because the community obeys the Prokes and related parties who also help as much as possible to reduce the number of Covid-19 in Yapen,” he said.
A Priest of GKI Pniel, M. Mayor, expressed his gratitude for the budget assistance from the Yapen Islands Regional Government. “We are very grateful for the attention of the Regional Government for the construction of this church, we will use it well for the construction of the church so that it will be inaugurated soon,” said Reverend Mayor.
