goodmorningpapua.com – The youth of Yakonde Village, Waubu District, Jayapura Regency ensure the safety and comfort of the participants of the VI Congress of Indigenous Peoples of the Archipelago (KMAN) VI.
This follows the decision of the Yakonde Indigenous community conference that security matters during the KMAN VI workshop in Yakonde Village have been left to the youth.
“We Yakode youths will cooperate with the security forces. To the workshop participants from all over the archipelago who come and live in Yakonde Village, we will guarantee their safety and comfort,” said Yakonde Village Youth Leader, Nolvin Kambai, Monday, September 19, 2022.
According to Nolvin, who is also the chairman of the Evangelical Christian Church (GKI) Youth Fellowship (PAM), Ebenhaezer Yakonde, that this security task is in accordance with orders from Ondofolo and the tribal chiefs in Yakonde.
He also ensured that the implementation of KMAN VI in Tanah Tabi, Jayapura Regency and Jayapura City on October 24-30, 2022, especially in Yakonde Village, received full support from the Yakonde Village Youth.
“Ondofolo Yakonde Village, Nikolas Daimoi and the Head of Yakonde Village, Yakop Daimoi gave a mandate to the Village Youth to work with the security forces to oversee all KMAN VI processions in Yakonde Village,” he said.
Nolvin persuades the workshop participants not to worry and doubt about security, because indigenous peoples have worked together with the police to ensure security in Yakonde Village.
