Wives of KKB Victim Teachers Continue Their Husband’s Struggle to Dedicate in the Hinterland of Papua

goodmorningpapua.com. – The wives of two teachers who were killed by the firing of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) wanted to continue their husband’s struggle. They have the determination to proceed their deceased husband’s struggle in teaching in the hinterland of Papua. This was conveyed by representatives of the family from Yonathan Renden and Oktovianus Rayo at an awarding of  the 2021 Education Award in Jayapura City, Papua.

In the such event, the  Education, Library and Regional Archives Office of Papua Province awarded the Education Award 2021 to the late Yonathan and Oktovianus.

“Teachers are very meritorious in educating the Papuan children in rural areas, so that the Government through the Regional Education, Libraries and Archives Office awarded the Education Award,” said the Regional Secretary of Papua, Yulian Dance Flassy.

Dance Flassy condemns the KKB shooting. He hopes that the incident will not happen anymore, because the impact will disrupt the teaching and learning process. Moreover, a number of areas in the inland of Papua still lack of teachers.

After receiving the such award, the wife of the late Oktovianus Rayo hoped that the Papua Provincial Government to be able to issue a letter of appointment for him and Yonathan Renden’s wife to become a teacher, for the sake of continuing her husband’s duties.

“I and the wife of the late Yonathan Renden can be appointed as teachers,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Papua Province Education, Libraries and Archives Office, Christian Sohilait, well welcomed the wishes of the late wife Oktovianus Rayo and Yonathan Renden to become teachers.

“We will follow up on the wishes of the wives of teachers who were victims of the KKB shootings. Certainly, we need a process and coordination with the Puncak Regency Government, the Papua Provincial Government and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and Technology,” he also said.
