What a Happy Papua is! Its Megalithic Site will Appear in Magelang

goodmorningpapua.com – Papua not only has natural beauty, but also megalithic sites. This site will appear at the 2021 Borobudur Writers & Cultural Festival (BWCF).

The Tutari Megalithic site is located in Doyo Lama Village, Waibu District, Jayapura Regency. The general theme in BWCF 2021 is Rereading Claire Holt Aesthetic Nusantara: the Continuity and the Changes.

BWCF will take place on 18 – 21 November 2021. This year the BWCF is entering its tenth year. BWCF 2021 is packaged in the form of a virtual festival.

The Tutari Megalithic site will be featured in the public lecture of the 2021 BWCF webinar, with the title Preservation of the Tutari Megalithic Motif in the Concept of SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) or sustainable development goals.

The Tutari Megalithic motif must be preserved, one way is to revive it in contemporary Sentani art, including Abar pottery, Asei bark painting, wood carving, and other contemporary art.

Apart from being preserved, this site must also be beneficial for the welfare of the community around the site, in this case the people who live in Lake Sentani. The Tutari Megalithic motif must improve the welfare of the community.

It is hoped that this site can serve as an artistic inspiration for artists, writers, poets, photographers, youtubers, bloggers, and painters in their creative works. For example, short videos, short stories, novels, popular writings, photo spots for pre-wedding, t-shirt screen printing designs, typical batik motifs, and so on.

The Tutari Megalithic site as a tourist destination has been known since 1973. This site has been listed in Lonely Planet, a travel guide book and the world’s largest digital media publisher.

Lonely Planet is a reference for tourists, both big-budget and limited-budget (low-budget, backpacker) tourists. Lonely Planet is not only published in English but also in French.
