The clean-up action for environment received support from the Jayapura District Government, through the Jayapura District Environment and Forestry Service.
A head of Kampung Sereh, Steven Eluay, said that environmental cleaning activities were a routine agenda that was mutually agreed upon in welcoming the AMAN congress.
This clean-up activity for environment is divided into each RT area and the community is obliged to participate in cleaning the environment. This effort is also a step to prevent flooding, if the rainfall is high.
These activities will also be carried out at a number of points, namely the Pos 7 motorcycle taxi base to the nursing home.
Other preparations that are planned to be carried out are the provision of sanitation and clean water to support the successful implementation of the AMAN congress.
“AMAN’s congress was held in October. However, the residents have agreed to make preparations from now on, so that the village becomes clean and ready to welcome AMAN delegates from all over Indonesia,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Jayapura Regency Environment and Forestry Service, Abdul Rahman Basri, appreciated the enthusiasm and enthusiasm of the residents of Kampung Sereh.
“The enthusiasm and enthusiasm of the residents of Kampung Sereh is very good and I hope to motivate all residents in other villages,” he said.
Basri added that the support provided was a series of activities from the Jayapura Regency Environment and Forestry Service in welcoming the National Waste Care Day (HPSN) which will be commemorated on February 21, 2022.
“To support this cleanliness, we will provide 2 trash bins, so that cleanliness is maintained properly,” he explained.
