goodmorningpapua.com – Empowerment with an environmental perspective is an important aspect in realizing the welfare of indigenous peoples in Papua. It is like EcoNusa, collaborating with Insist in establishing a Village School to strengthen the competence of the people of Tanah Papua and the Maluku Islands.
The program targets are village heads and local community leaders. In Papua, a number of achievements have been created. Such as implementing sustainable agriculture, managing village data and information in Merauke, untill building a drying house for a number of horticultural crops in Kaimana.
Young people also play a role in supporting green development in Papua. In this case, EcoNusa plays a role in increasing the capacity and participation of young people from Papua. The capacity building agenda is conducted through the Diplomacy School program.
This activity is spread across 40 regencies/cities and has generated 182 alumni. “It is clear that the development vision is in favor of indigenous peoples and this is the focus of development partners with local governments and indigenous peoples themselves,” said Bustar Maitar.
