Vice President Ma’ruf Amin: I’m Traveling All Over Papua, it’s Safe

goodmorningpapua.com – Indonesian Vice President (Wapres) Ma’ruf Amin said, efforts to secure the 2023 New Year’s eve in Papua prioritize humane handling and continue to carry out welfare development in the land of Papua.

“I think the pattern remains, we build welfare and then also handle it humanely,” said the Vice President in his press conference after the inauguration of PLUT KUMKM Semarang Regency, Jl. Fatmawati No. 161 Semarang, Central Java, Tuesday (27/12/2022).

The Vice President also denied an opinion saying that all regions in Papua are harmful. During his working visit the other day, the Vice President was asked by Papuans to add divisions in Papua, namely in West Papua and Main Papua.

“Those who are rather vulnerable are only in certain areas. Because I traveled all over Papua, everything is safe. I came to Jayapura, Merauke, Timika, Kaimana, Biak, all of them, they even asked to add two more provinces, in West Papua, in mother Papua in Papua,” explained the Vice President.

The Vice President also emphasized that there was no objection from the Papuan people about regional division. “I said ok but not right now, we’ll take care of these four first. So they don’t refuse, but want to add more. And their welcome was good,

the conditions were also good, everyone was in high passion,” said the Vice President.
