Venusiana, A Papuan Girl Developing Creativity in the Land of Cenderawasih – Being disciplined, hardworking, humble, and religious. That’s the impression and image strongly attached to the figure of Venusiana, a Papuan woman who is now the captain of the Consumer Service Directorate of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom).

For Ka Ve, as he is usually called, has the principle that the main opponent of the human self lies not in others, but in oneself. For various negative characters that sometimes stick in oneself, one of them is laziness. The cure for laziness, according to Ka Ve is to focus on goals by working hard, paying attention to detail, maintaining harmony and balance between work and family.

This attitude has led to Ka Ve’s success since he first started his career at TelkomGroup until he succeeded in occupying the top level management position as Network Director in TelkomGroup’s subsidiary, namely PT Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel) from January 2020 – June 2020.

Every task and mandate provided to him was always carried out maximally. During 20 years with TelkomGroup, Ka Ve has succeeded in accomplishing various tough tasks such as building telecommunication network infrastructure of Base Transceiver Station (BTS) at remote and outermost areas in Indonesia, especially in Eastern Indonesia.

A telecommunication network that is evenly distributed to Eastern Indonesia is part of the achievement of Ka Ve’s leadership during his mandate in TelkomGroup. For her dedication, in 2015, the Papuan-born woman was awarded the Satya Lencana Pembangunan from the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia. An appreciation and award given by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia for its work in advancing the postal and telecommunications industry which has an impact on the progress of the nation.

The success journey during at TelkomGroup was one of the considerations for this woman who was born in Manokwari on July 8, 1966, to be the Director of Telkom’s Consumer Service since June 2020. Now, the proud daughter of “Bumi Cenderawasih” is the first Telkom woman leader from Papua to rule IndiHome, the fixed broadband service of Telkom with the largest number of subscribers in Indonesia

Not only that, IndiHome’s fixed broadband fiber optic coverage has stretched for 166,343 KM from Sabang to Merauke and even to the outermost islands in Indonesia. This amount is equivalent to 4 times of the circumference of the earth.

This alumni of the Electronic Engineering Department of Diponegoro University in 1992 continues to oversee and ensure that the IndiHome’s fixed broadband service becomes the best provider of customer experience in Indonesia. Not only in certain cities, but internet access can be felt in remote areas of the village from Aceh to Papua. So that every community can continue their activities indefinitely with IndiHome.

It is especially in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic conditions, the equitable internet access is a basic need for all Indonesians to remain to be productive. Not wanting to be a passive one, in the first quarter of 2021, the figure of this tough and intelligent woman, immediately stepped on to visit her homeland in Papua. Ka Ve returned to Papua for developing Papua, building the dreams and hopes of the Papuan people through equitable internet access in Papua.

For the woman who achieved a Master of Management from Hasanuddin University 2004, it has become part of her commitment that Telkom will continue to develop the country fairly and equitably to Papua. Therefore, under Ka Ve’s command, Telkom with its network internet access of IndiHome Wifi Corner (WiCo), contributed in preparing a golden generation to welcome the Developed Indonesia from Papua.

One of the real steps is to mobilize the unlimited creativity of the Papuan people through the program of IndiHome Wonderful Papua, which involves the Papuan creative community, chaired by Yakoba Womsimor.

For Yakoba Womsimor, a Papuan social and cultural activist, the presence of Ka Ve in his homeland is not just a reunion and a nostalgic meeting. More than it, Ka Ve is one of the successful icons of overseas women from Papua who really cares about the progress of Indonesia. In Ka Koba’s view, as he is usually called, Ka Ve is a true evidence that Putri Papua is also capable of becoming the leader of a world-class telecommunication company. An achievement that becomes a motivation for future generations from Papua that their ideals and dreams are unlimited.
