goodmorningpapua.com – Government of Papua Province has submitted water and soil in a procession of soil and water unification at the zero point of the state capital (IKN), East Kalimantan on Monday, March 14, 2022.
The handover of water and land was carried out by the Assistant for General Administration of the Regional Secretariat of Papua, Y. Derek Hagemur, on behalf of the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe, who was unable to attend the procession led by President Joko Widodo.
A Head of the Papua Province Communication and Information Office, Jery Yudianto, explained that the soil brought was land representing 29 regencies and cities in Papua and for water it was a symbol of giving fertility to the existing land.
“With the spirit of togetherness, 33 other provinces in Papua Province also support IKN in Kalimantan,” said Jery Yudianto to KabarPapua.co by telephone, Monday, March 14, 2022.
In the process of unifying water and soil at IKN, said Jery, the Papua Provincial Government will also plant Matoa trees or in Latin Pometia Pinnata. This tree is a plant species that grows in Papua.
“The Matoa tree is a plant species growing a lot in Papua. We hope that this tree can grow in IKN with the same character as in Papua,” said Jery.
When asked about the taking of land and water brought to the archipelago’s jug ritual, Jery did not explain. “For the soil we brought it was not specific, this soil collected was the land from Papua,” he said.
