goodmorningpapua.com – A Directorate of Digital Economy of the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) added the location of UMKM Go Online in West Papua. This is done to maximize other potentials so that Papua is not only known as a Raja Ampat tourist destination.
“This is conducted to immediately go online so that MSME [UMKM} can improve themselves and prepare for the era of the industrial revolution 4.0,” said Director of the Digital Economy of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics I Nyoman Adhiarna in a written statement, Thursday (28/7/2022).
In the third year of implementing the program, UMKM Go Online added new locations in Papua, West Papua, and North Maluku. With the facilitator’s basecamp location in Manokwari, the workshop was held in Sorong City to provide enthusiasm as well as basic knowledge that can spur business actors, especially MSME producers in the processing sector to improve products and sell them across regions.
“By adopting various digital technologies, UMKM is able to increase profits by expanding marketing and simplifying their business processes,” said Adhiarna.
KadiskopUKM Sorong Yance Jitmau expressed his gratitude for seeing the various potential products processed by MSMEs in Sorong City which were able to penetrate a wider market. For this reason, Yance asked SMEs not to waste the opportunity to participate in the Go Online Scale-up mentoring activity held by the Directorate of Digital Economy.
To answer various basic problems for business actors entering the digital world, the workshop presented M Riva Yozi Pratama from Shopee Indonesia and Putra Rizqi Agung Usman, Head of Shipper Academy. Both of them provide various tips and tricks for selling online for beginners so they can compete with those who have gone before.
An assistant Deputy for Business Ecosystem Development, Deputy for Entrepreneurship at the Ministry of Cooperatives for SMEs, Irwansyah Putra, emphasized that he would continue to connect MSMEs from upstream to downstream. It is especially starting from access to financing, curation, packaging, logistics to marketing.
“This workshop is a form of inter-institutional synergy to assist MSMEs, especially in Sorong City so that Sorong MSME products are able to compete with products from other regions,” explained Irwasnsyah.
The workshop was attended by young entrepreneurs who are starting businesses and large entrepreneurs who have produced processed products but are still unable to take advantage of the conveniences and benefits offered by various digital applications. MSME Go Online assists MSMEs step by step using digital applications to assist business processes.
