goodmorningpapua.com – An Assistant II to the Regional Secretariat of Jayapura Regency, Joko Sunaryo, inaugurated a beauty salon owned by a native Sentani woman, Friday, February 25, 2022.
The inauguration of a beauty business called Uce Salon was marked by the cutting of a ribbon which began with a joint worship service. Uniquely, all employees of this beauty salon are native Papuans.
The owner of a beauty salon, Uce Puraro, told the story of how she started her career in the beauty business. At that time she was motivated by the development of beauty salons in Jayapura City and Jayapura Regency.
At that time, Uce saw that almost all beauty salons were managed by non-Papuans, including the workers. “This is a motivation for me, why they can, but I can’t.? There are Papuans that I meet but they are only customers who come only to undergo the care,” she said.
The desire to have a beauty salon also makes Uce always pay attention to the contents of every beauty salon she visited. The goal is to find out the equipment needed to start the business.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to all my friends who have salons everywhere, because they make me motivated and able to innovate,” she said.
So far, said Uce, Papuan women, especially Sentani women, are actually able to enter the business world but do not dare to start and compete with other salon entrepreneurs.
She also hopes that the start of her salon business can be a motivation for all women in Jayapura, especially Papuan women, to try to enter the world of the beauty business.
“I don’t have the skills and never learn but I have the intention because why others can I can’t,” she said while asking for prayer support so that his new business can grow.
The Assistant II of the Regional Secretariat of Jayapura Regency, Joko Sunaryo, gave high appreciation to Uce Puraro who had determined to enter and compete in the business world.
“This is a matter of pride for the Jayapura Regency Government because this is the first time that a native Sentani woman has boldly ventured into the beauty business,” he said.
Joko assessed that Uce Puraro’s step was a challenge for all Papuan women to enter the business world. Moreover, the government has made it easy to get business capital through loan funds, one of which is from Bank Papua.
“This opportunity is very good for Papuan women who want to progress and develop in the business world. Today we learn from this effort and hopefully it will be a good example for all of us,” he said.
