The series of activities are packaged in commemoration of the National Press Day on February 9, 2022.
To reporters, the Deputy Regent of Jayapura Regency, Giri Wijayantoro, expressed his high appreciation for the press personnel who have been serving in Jayapura Regency. He also asked members of the press in Jayapura Regency in particular to speak out about the environment issue and its impacts.
“The damage to the Cyclop conservation is a common concern, including the press. For this reason, I urge the press to be more active in voicing the truth, enthusiasm and optimism among the public,” he said.
In addition, Giri Wijayantoro also appealed to the press to continue educating the public about the importance of maintaining health protocols in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Therefore, friends must be able to play a role in managing information to encourage the government to issue more appropriate policies with a code of ethics that applies as agents of change, ” he said.
