goodmorningpapua.com – A Chairman of the Regional Management Board (BPD) of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) West Papua, William Heinrich is committed to generate new young entrepreneurs from West Papua.
William has just been inaugurated as a Chairman of the BPD HIPMI West Papua on the agenda of the Regional Congress held at the Vega Hotel, Sorong City, West Papua, Sunday (11/14/2021).
“Generating new young entrepreneurs from West Papua is of course a target and I can make sure this target can be achieved as long as there is support from related parties, especially the provincial government,” William said in his speech.
He explained, West Papua is a very rich area, both land and sea. Unfortunately, this wealth has not been used optimally by local entrepreneurs, especially young entrepreneurs. He said, there are many problems faced by the youth of West Papua to rise up as entrepreneurs. Especially in terms of mindset.
“One fact I found in the youth of West Papua is that they do not have the courage to become an entrepreneur. They prefer to try their luck to become an ASN. They are even willing to queue from year to year just to be an ASN,” said William.
“I hope my staff understands what I mean and implements it in the form of concrete programs.
We must have a target, every year how many young entrepreneurs from West Papua we produce,” he said.
The inauguration of the BPD Management of HIPMI West Papua for the 2021-2024 period was attended by the General Chairperson of the HIPMI BPP Mardani Haji Maming, West Papua Deputy Governor Mohamad Lakotani, Kaimana Regent Freddy Thie, Fakfak Regent Untung Tamsil, Sorong Mayor Lambertus Jitmau and West Papua Forkopimda Leaders.
