The Figure of an Acting Governor of Central Papua, Ribka Haluk, the First Woman to Become a Leader in the Land of Papua

She was appointed by the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri), Tito Karnavian, to become an Acting Governor of Central Papua, at the Ministry of Home Affairs Office Jakarta, Friday (11/11/2022). Previously, Rebekah Haluk was the Expert Staff of the Minister of Home Affairs for Apparatus and Public Services.

Ribka Haluk made history as the first Papuan woman to serve as governor in the land of Papua. This woman who was born on January 10, 1971 was previously appointed as the Acting Regent of Yalimo on August 26, 2021. At that time she was directly appointed by the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe.

Not only that, recorded on the official website elhkpn.kpk.go.id, Rebekah Haluk’s assets in the form of land and buildings in Jayapura City are valued at IDR 250 million. The assets derived from inheritance, namely land and buildings, are both worth IDR 1 billion and are spread across the City of Jayapura and City of Jawawijaya.

In addition to assets in the form of land and buildings, Rebekah has assets in the form of motorbikes worth IDR 13 million. There are also other movable assets worth IDR 80 million and cash or cash equivalents worth IDR 50 million. However, Rebekah also has IDR 100,090,272 in debt, bringing Rebekah’s total wealth to IDR 2,292,909,728.

Currently, Ribka is serving as the Acting Governor of Central Papua with area coverage, namely: Nabire Regency (Provincial Capital), Paniai Regency, Mimika Regency, Dogiyai Regency, Deiyai ​​Regency, Intan Jaya Regency, Puncak Regency, Puncak Jaya Regency.
