goodmorningpapua.com-The PLN of Principal Unit for the Papua and West Papua Region (UIW PPB) has calculated the electricity requirement for the 2021 National Sports Week (PON) XX in Papua.
The electricity requirement reaches 126 megawatts. General Manager of PLN UIW PPB Abdul Farid ensured that the power necessity had been fulfilled because of the capacity of the power plants in the four host districts or cities exceeded the capacity, namely 204 megawatts.
“For the electricity capacity in the four locations, the average surplus is around 38 percent of the current peak load. With the need for additional power for PON XX, we estimate the power surplus will still be around 30 percent,” Farid said in a written statement, Tuesday (15/15). 6/2021).
Farid admits that the construction of the electricity network to all PON venues has not been finished. Of the 41 match venues, there are 223 locations in which electricity networks need to be built to facilitate these activities. However, the construction of the electricity network has entered the final completion stage.
“The process of electrical work to support the performance at the four locations has reached 95 percent and is targeted for completion in August 2021,” said Farid.
In terms of personnel readiness, PLN will alert 564 officers to secure the electricity supply for the four-year event. The personnel will be on duty from September 19 to October 17, 2021.
The implementation of PON XX 2021 is planned to take place on October 2-15, 2021 in Jayapura City, Jayapura Regency, Mimika, and Merauke. There will be 37 sports and 10 exhibition branches that will be competed in PON XX.
