goodmorningpapua.com – Right away, the young generation of Papua will be able to enjoy and utilize creative tools to develop their potential in the fields of technology, innovation and local products, the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH), in Jayapura. The development of PYCH is one of the efforts of the Government of Indonesia to support the role of the younger generation in managing Papua’s economic potential.
Apart from that, the construction of the PYCH is also a follow-up to the meeting between President Jokowi and Young Papuan Inspiring Leaders in September 2019 at the State Palace. The Ministry of PUPR through the Papua Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center (BPPW), the Directorate General of Cipta Karya supports the construction of the infrastructure for the Papua Youth Creative Hub which is located on Jalan Poros Abepura or about 11 km from the center of Jayapura City.
Built on an area of 15,000 square meters, PYCH includes a main building of 3,520 square meters and 1,812 square meters of supporting buildings.
This facility is also equipped with a green area of 3,000 square meters, dormitory, sports arena, multi-purpose room for exhibitions and presentations, and co-working space. The construction work was carried out by PT Nindya Karya (Persero) with consultants PT Yodya Karya (Persero) KSO PT Mandiri Cakti Consultindo. “The contract value for the construction of PYCH is Rp. 95.05 billion sourced from the State Budget with the construction period from September 2021 to December 2022,” said Head of the Papua Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center Corneles Sagrim.
The work was carried out under the Multi Years Contract (MYC) scheme, and so far the physical progress of the PYCH construction has reached 98 percent. It is hoped that PYCH can become a driving force and function as a center for the development of young talents in Papua. In addition, PYCH can act as a center of creativity for young Papuans in strengthening a good innovation and technology ecosystem.
