Reynal, Breaking an Impasse of Papuan Wrestling

goodmorningpapua.com – Reynal Fadli won a gold medal in the wrestling match at the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON) which was held in Merauke Regency, Tuesday, October 12, 2021.

Reynal Fadli is the only wrestling athlete who has successfully presented gold to the Papuan contingent. Reynal won a gold medal after defeating a South Kalimantan wrestler in the men’s 97 kilogram free class at the Futsal GOR, Merauke.

Besides Reynal Fadli, there are also two host wrestlers donating silver medals for Papua, namely Andarias Sroyer who went to the men’s 86 kg free class, and Oloan Silalahi who joined in the men’s 125 kg free class. Reynal Fadli admitted that getting the gold from wrestling was a prayer and support from the Papuan people. “I dedicate this medal to the papuan people, and of course to my family who have always supported me,” said Reynal.
