Realizing the Literacy Spirit, BI Holds Training of Economic Writing for 25 Papuan Journalists – The representative office of Bank Indonesia Papua, Papua Province, conducted training on writing economic news for 25 journalists in Jayapura City. The training of writing was held from 10-12 June 2012 in Denpasar, Bali.

A theme of the training was “Capacity Building for Journalists.” Presenting the Deputy Managing Editor of Koran Sindo by presenting a material about media convergence. Meanwhile, the material about the transformation of the payment system in the digital era was delivered by the Assistant Director of the Central Bank Indonesia Payment System Policy Department, Faizal Kurniawan.

Not only that, the material on potential sources of new growth and its support for Papua’s economic development was conveyed by Agni Alam Awirya as Assistant Director of the Representative Office of Bank Indonesia Papua Province.

Meanwhile, a Head of Bank Indonesia Representative Office for Papua Province, Juli Budi Winanthya, hopes that the training for journalists can increase their capacity to write economic news, so that it will have an impact on the economy in Papua.

“Hopefully journalists can improve their ability to write economic news, so that economic news can develop even more,” he said Saturday, June 11, 2022 at the Mamaka Hotel Bali.

Juli explained that the visit of 25 economic journalists from Papua on the Island of the Gods, Bali, will also visit a waste management site and a tourist spot in Panglipuran Village. “It is hoped that the knowledge acquired will be a provision for journalists to implement it in Papua, in order to obtain new sources of economic growth,” he explained.
