Ramses Ohee, 1969 Papuan Referendum Figure Dies

goodmorningpapua.com – A historical figure and actor in the Papuan Referendum (Pepera) in 1969, Ramses Ohee passed away at the Dian Harapan Hospital due to illness, Monday (30/5/2022). The figure of Remses Ohee is a witness to the struggle of the people of Papua and West Papua to remain being united to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

Condolences for the passing of Remses Ohee were conveyed by various parties. Among them were the Kodam XVII/Cenderawasih who expressed their condolences for the death of Remses Ohee.

“It is proper for the late Ramses Ohee to be honored for his services, especially as a traditional leader as Ondoafi Waena,” said Kapendam XVII/Cenderawasih Lieutenant Colonel Kav Herman Taryaman, Monday (30/5/2022). He said, Ramses Ohee is a personage who is admired as well as a role model for the Papuan people.

So it deserves honor and appreciation from the community and government as well as from all parties.

“Pangdam XVII/Cenderawasih Maj. Gen. Teguh Muji Angkasa and all the soldiers of Kodam XVII/Cenderawasih are sorry for the death of the late Mr. Ramses Ohee,” he said.
