goodmorningpapua.com – Jayapura City Government guarantees the availability of cooking oil during Ramadan. It’s just that the scarcity of cooking oil will cause prices to increase.
“If you look at the news some time ago, there was indeed a shortage of cooking oil, but so far in Jayapura City, we think it is still under control, because the stock of cooking oil is sufficient. Yes, there may be a price increase,” said Deputy Mayor of Jayapura, Rustan Saru, Thursday, March 31, 2022.
In addition to the availability of cooking oil, continued Rustan Saru, the Jayapura City Government also ensures that there is sufficient stock of basic commodities throughout Ramadan until the upcoming Eid al-Fitr.
“God willing, the stock of Bapok [basic commodities] in Jayapura City ahead of Ramadan and during Ramadan will be safe and sufficient, including the price of basic necessities. We hope that it will remain stable,” he said.
Even so, Rustan Saru reminded distributors and traders not to take advantage of this religious holiday for Muslims by playing with abnormal prices.
“We urge the public to shop for basic commodities normally based on their needs so as not to cause a shortage of goods on the market,” Rustan Saru ordered.
He added that the Jayapura City Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) will carry out sudden inspections to find out supply prices and bapok prices in markets and shopping centers. “Of course, later we will inspect the field,” he said.
