PON XX Removes the Papua Underdevelopment Stigma

goodmorningpapua.com – The government confirms its commitment to develop Papua. A number of efforts have been made to develop the easternmost region of Indonesia.

This is presented in the 2021 Performance Achievement report under the title ‘Indonesia is Resilient, Indonesia Grows’ which was released to coincide with the two-year reign of Joko Widodo-Ma’ruf Amin.

One of the things being proud of is the XX PON event in Cenderawasih Earth. The government stated that the XX PON event in Papua was a sign of the revival of the land of Papua. Moreover, at the event, President Joko Widodo came down directly to open the XX PON.

“On the stage of the XX PON event, Papua depicts a new face that was flushed with joy. This is a feast that erases the old stigma about the backwardness of the land of Cenderawasih,” the report quoted the report as saying, Friday (22/10).

In its report, the government stated that the key to the gate of Papua’s future lies in the young generation who are healthy, intelligent, and have guaranteed education.

“The government has made a similar commitment to produce superior talents from the Cenderawasih earth. Among other things, by means of the Papuan talent management ecosystem”, he said.

Based on data from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek), there are 3,648 Papuan students who will receive the Higher Education Affirmation Scholarship (ADik) in 2021.

Meanwhile, there were 999 class X students, 1,363 class XI students, and 1,420 class XII students from Papua who received the Secondary Education Affirmation Scholarship (ADEM) this year.

In addition to education issues, the government is also fixing bureaucratic problems in Papua. The government stated that a bureaucratic machine having a quality is needed to manage the strength of human resources and the abundance of natural resources.
