goodmorningpapua.com – The presence of PON XX in Papua does not only have a beneficial for sports lovers and players around the country, but also it opens up broad economic opportunities for local communities, especially in the organizing cluster.
Jayapura Regent, Mathius Awoitauw said all community members must take advantage and seize economic opportunities with the presence of PON XX in Jayapura Regency. Economic opportunities are actually wide open when thousands of people from 33 provinces in Indonesia are in Papua in their involvement in PON XX, both as athletes, officials, and other supporting participants.
In addition to the economy, the development of infrastructure and facilities for sports in various regions, of course, is followed by support for the development of other basic infrastructure supporting the development of the Papua region, both housing, roads and bridges, clean water networks, electricity and telecommunications, as well as green open spaces providing an adequate access to the arrenged environment. There are many benefits that can be obtained from the implementation of PON XX in Papua.
In addition, it is hoped that the creative economy will grow up, the tourism world will rise up, and the movement of goods and services in Papua will be more active. The process towards PON XX also further strengthens social solidarity among the nation’s children from various provinces as well as internal social solidarity within the Papuan population, which now amounts to around 3.5 million people. The epithet of Papua as a mini Indonesia becomes social capital, as well as the cultural capital of the diverse population in strengthening love through differences.
This distribution pattern is in line with the traditional territorial approach in Papua’s development, including the traditional areas of Saireri, Mamta, Mee Pago, Laa Pago, and Animha. In this way, the pace of development will be felt equally in all customary areas, and the solidity and pride of the Papuan people will grow up inclusively.
For this reason, all Indonesian people should take a role in the success of PON XX because this is a part of Papua’s development. The involvement of the Papuan millennial generation is also important in activities of PON XX to prevent sunbang issues that will hinder the implementation of PON XX of Papua later.
