Peace in the Land of Papua Must Be Realized – Nusantara Alliance Solidarity/Solidaritas Paguyuban Nusantara (Sopan) Jayapura Regency has carried out Halal Bihalal activities with all Forkompinda in Jayapura Regency starting from elements of the TNI, Polri, Jayapura Regency Government as well as indigenous peoples, youth leaders and women leaders in Jayapura Regency, Saturday (28/5).

A Jayapura Regent, Mathius Awoitauw, said that the Halal Bihalal held by the Paguyuban Nusantara was a very positive thing, because in addition to establishing a relationship of togetherness, activities like this can also improve ties with fellow communities across communities, ethnicities and religions.

“There is nothing better than that we live in harmony and peace,” said Mathius Awoitauw after the event, Saturday (28/5).

He said that peace and harmony between religious communities in Papua, especially in Jayapura Regency, was not just a call, but had to be realized. For this reason, positive things like this must continue to be developed in the future.

Meanwhile, a Head of Courtesy of Jayapura Regency, H. Kharim said, halal bihalal is closely related to the relationship between fellow religious communities in Jayapura Regency in order to maintain togetherness and harmony between religious communities. So that there will be no more gaps for differences between all communities in Jayapura Regency.

“This moment can be used to care for, maintain and develop togetherness in the Land of Papua, more specifically in Jayapura Regency,” he said.

In addition, through this halal bihalal activity, his party also wants to motivate the people in Jayapura and Papua in general, that the existence of the Polite organization is here to care for the diversity of both ethnicity and culture in Jayapura Regency.

“Our hope to all cross-communities in this Polite Forum. Let’s always communicate and coordinate and maintain togetherness. That way we can solve all the existing problems,” he concluded.
