goodmorningpapua.com – The Grand Committee [PB] of the XVI Papua National Paralympic Week claims that they have not found any positive cases of Covid-19, either in athletes, officials or committees.
“Until now, there have been no findings of Covid-19 cases among Peparnas XVI athletes in Papua. I hope that no one is hit and that they (athletes) can go home in good health,” said the Daily Chairperson of PB Peparnas XVI Papua, Doren Wakerkwa, Tuesday 9 November 2021.
Doren advised all athletes to maintain health protocols, both at venues and lodging places to avoid the spread of Covid-19. “Always keep the health protocol, then keep your stamina to be healthy,” added Doren.
A Deputy Chair II of PB Peparnas Hans Hamadi said that his party had collaborated with a number of hospitals and health centers in the Regency and City of Jayapura to handle athletes exposed to Covid-19.
“We have made MoUs with hospitals and health centers in Jayapura City and Regency. (For) in Jayapura Regency there is 1 hospital and several puskesmas, then in Jayapura City there are 4 referral hospitals,” he explained.
Peparnas XVI Papua was officially opened by Vice President Ma’ruf Amin at the Mandala Stadium, Jayapura City, Papua, Friday 5 November 2021. Thousands of athletes from various provinces in Indonesia participated in this prestigious sporting event.
