The Papua Information Commission stated that the local community has begun to understand the existence of law (UU) number 14 of 2008 regarding the disclosure of public information so as to provide transparency in accessing information to public bodies on Cenderawasih Earth.

A Deputy Chairperson of the Papua Province Information Commission Andriani Wally in Jayapura, Wednesday, said that until September 2022 his party had received 20 dispute reports regarding transparency in public bodies.

“So if the public makes a request for public information to the OPD but within a period of 43 working days it is not regulated, residents can report it to us,” she said when contacted by telephone Wednesday (19/10).
