Papuan Youths are Encouraged to Use Social Media for Personal Branding

Jenny boosted around two hundred young people at a cafe in Abepura last August to become digitally literate young people, especially in using social media in the formation of personal branding.

At the same time, there was also a Go Digital MSME event under the title ‘Digital Binar Papua’ at the Cendrawasih Sports Center, Jayapura City. This event is predicted to be a revival of economic actors in Papua to maximize their product marketing using digital technology.

“Like the twinkle according to the name of this event, Papuan MSME products must shine as bright as the morning light for the archipelago, for regional stages. Let’s together support MSMEs and Ultra Micro Indonesia created by the children of the Papuan people for Indonesia can be digitally competitive,” said Minister of Communications and Informatics Johnny G Plate.

Separately, the Director General of Information and Public Communication of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics, Usman Kansong, said the problem facing Papua was the provision of digital infrastructure. Therefore, the government provides 65% of national BTS during 2021-2022 as many as 2,765 4G BTS in Papua and West Papua. In addition to digital infrastructure, the government has also prepared reliable human resources by providing digital literacy training.

“Everything is in synergy so that after the infrastructure exists, the human resources are good so they can go international,” he said.
