goodmorningpapua.com – Papua Special Sports Senior High School (Smankor) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) related to online learning of four sports with Yamagata Chuou Gakkou Sports Senior High School, Japan at GOR Cartenz Smankor Papua.
The head of the Papuan Sports Special High School, Dance Nawipa, explained that the four sports subjects were athletics, football, volleyball, and boxing.
“So, we and Yamagata Chuou Gakkou Sports Senior High School collaborate to learn so that our students also know that in Japan there are also the same subjects as in Papua,” he said, Thursday (21/7/2022).
According to Dance, his party chose Japan because the land of Sakura is famous for its environmental cleanliness. It is because if the Papuan High School has athletes who have talent but are not supported by cleanliness, it will be useless.
“So, we chose Japan to collaborate to support our athletes to excel,” he added.
Dance explained that the cooperation was built because the Papua Provincial Government and the Japanese Government had implemented a sister province (International Agreement) so that this MoU became a part of it.
“The initial plan of this cooperation is for three years because apart from that we also have a cooperation agreement in the agricultural sector,” he explained.
He added that with the MoU, the Papua Provincial Government can assist in preparing infrastructure such as providing internet networks (wifi installation) and computers so that students can study well.
