Papuan Regional Police Rowing Competition Assists Local Government Prepare XXI PON Athletes

goodmorningpapua.com – The Papuan Regional Police held a traditional rowing competition to celebrate Bhayangkara’s 76th Birthday at Jayapura Dok II Beach, Monday 27 June 2022. The competition was officially opened by the Papuan Police Chief, an Inspector General of Police Mathius D. Fakhiri.

According to the two-star general, a native of Papua, this traditional rowing competition is one of the activities so that the Police can get closer to the community in building togetherness on the earth of paradise.

Fakhiri hopes that this traditional rowing competition can assist the Papua Regional Government in preparing rowing athletes for the XXI National Sports Week (PON) in North Sumatra, Aceh and Medan.

“Hopefully holding activities like this can build better trust from the community towards the Polri institution,” said Fakhiri, who is also the Chair of the Papuan Contingent at PON XX.

In addition to holding traditional rowing competitions, the Papuan Police also held various activities including social, religious and health services. The health service itself is centered at Bhayangkara Hospital.
