Papua Health Office Continues Efforts to Increase Vaccination Coverage

goodmorningpapua.com – The coverage of Covid-19 vaccination in Papua reached 30.27 percent for Dose I, 22.91 percent for Dose II, 6.57 percent for Dose III and 1.18 percent. It is based on data on the Covid-19 immunization coverage for districts/cities in Papua as of August 23, 2022.

The coverage of the Booster Covid-19 immunization in Mimika Regency reaches 21-30 percent. Meanwhile the cities of Jayapura, Boven Digoel, Merauke, Biak, Nabire, Jayapura and Keerom districts reaches 11-20 percent. Asmat, Mappi, Supiori, Sarmi 6-10 percent. Yapen, Jayawijaya, Waropen, Pegunungsn Bintang and Mamberamo Tengah 1-5 percent.

With the scope of the vaccination, a Head of Disease Prevention and Control at the Papua Provincial Health Office, dr. Aaron Rumainum appealed to residents to keep vaccinating.

Whereas, there is no vaccination service at the Papua Provincial Health Office. However, his party still provides services if there are agencies or offices that ask to be vaccinated.

“We are still providing services if there are related agencies that ask to be vaccinated, it’s just that it can’t be done at the Papua Provincial Health Office. We urge people to keep vaccinating based on their own awareness,” he concluded.
