goodmorningpapua.com – Jayapura Mayor, Benhur Tomi Mano, said the Papuan special autonomy (Otsus) fund disbursed by the central government was very beneficial for the welfare of the indigenous Papuans (OAP).
“So, there is no reason to reject the sustainability of Otsus in Papua. The regional head forum, Saireri Tabi, has even agreed to support the sustainability of Otsus in this land,” he said, Friday (6/5/2022).
Benhur explained that there was never a failure in the implementation of special autonomy in Papua.
“Even though Jayapura City receives the smallest special autonomy fund, around IDR 100 billion and is widely used for the welfare of OAP, ranging from education, infrastructure to the people’s economy. So, there is never a failure in special autonomy. Continue to continue with special autonomy and build Papua in stages. Homeland,” he said.
This year, the central government has disbursed more than IDR 8.5 trillion in special autonomy funds for Papua and West Papua.
Not only that, Papua and West Papua received additional infrastructure funds of Rp. 4.3 trillion. This fund is intended to finance the development of transportation infrastructure, electricity, clean water, telecommunications, and environmental sanitation.
