goodmorningpapua.com – The XXIX Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ) for the Papua Province in 2022 is going to be officially opened Monday night (01/08/2022) at the Hall of Institute for Development of the Tilawatil Qur’an (LPTQ), Kotaraja, Jayapura City. The event will run until August 5, 2022.
On behalf of the Government of the Papua Province, the Regional Secretary of the Papua Province, Dr. H. Ridwan Ruikutun, M.Si invoked all Papuan people to support the implementation of the 29th MTQ activity at the Papua Province Level.
He hopes that the implementation of the 29th MTQ at the Papua Province level will be a means to foster a generation of love for the Qur’an, especially in the Land of Papua, and provide an actual religious nuance, namely Islam whose presence is able to create peace and love for fellow humans and the universe.
“The generation that we hope to become a part of the quality and competitive Papuan human resources towards Papua rises up, is independent and prosperous with justice,” he said.
Furthermore, the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of the Papua Province Pdt. Dr. Proverbs Yowei SE., M.Pd.K congratulated and succeeded in holding the 29th MTQ at the Papua Province level.
“Hopefully, by holding the 29th MTQ at the Papua Province Level in this “Year of Tolerance”, it will be a spirit for all of us to continue to increase the spirit of spreading goodness, in the life of the nation and state, who are pious, moderate, intelligent and superior,” he expected.
Meanwhile, a Chairperson of the Papua Province Tilawatil Qur’an Development Institute (LPTQ), Dr. Drs. Muhammad Musa’ad, M.Si gave his greatest appreciation to the relevant parties who contributed to the organization of the activity. He also expressed his appreciation to all levels of the committee and the community who have worked together to make the 29th MTQ successful and orderly.
“Hopefully this 29th MTQ will be our momentum to create people with Qur’anic and Harmonious characters towards Papua Rise, Independent and Prosperous. To Muslims in Papua, let’s flock to the MTQ venue later as a form of active participation in enlivening it and as a form of our love for the Qur’an,” he hoped.
The registration for the 29th MTQ participants from each Regency/City will be represented by each official, on Sunday (31/07/2022) morning in the Secretariat room of the 29th MTQ committee, Kotaraja LPTQ Building, Jayapura City. Participants from each registered Regency/City were 317 participants. The details of each Regency/City include:

- Jayapura Regency with 31 participants.
- Mimika Regency with 33 participants.
- Merauke Rregency with 35 participants.
- Nabire Regency with 27 participants.
- Dogiyai Regency with 2 participants.
- Kepulauan Yapen Regency with 21 participants.
- Mappi Regency with 16 participants.
- Kabupaten Boven Digoel Regency with 13 participants.
- Sarmi Regency with 13 participants.
- Tolikara Regency with 3 participants.
- Supiori Regency with 4 participants.
- Asmat Regency with 11 participants.
- Biak Numfor Regency with 16 participants.
- Jayawijaya Regency with 16 participants.
- Keerom Regency with 28 participants.

A Coordinator of the Health Section of the Papua Province MTQ XXIX Committee, dr. Trischa Ferianty emphasized that the health protocol would still be applied to this activity. “Using masks, maintaining distance, washing hands or hand sanitizers,” he explained about the implementation of health protocols. Then he added that when the MTQ preparation meeting was conveyed by his party, if the activity participants did not have a booster, they would be asked for a rapid antigen.

The accommodation in question is in the Papua Province Hajj Dormitory and the Papuan Education Quality Assurance Institute (LPMP) Dormitory in Kotaraja, Jayapura City.
