Lukas Enembe, a Moderate Governor of Papua – Province of Papua is one of dozens of provinces in Indonesia that have abundant natural resource potential (SDA). Besides, this province has a very diverse ethnic group. Quoted from, Papua is a province in Indonesia located on the western island of New Guinea or west New Guinea. Papua Province is inhabited by native tribes, totaling 255 tribes with a different own language. Currently, Papua Province is led by Lukas Enembe as the Governor. Luke Enembe’s profile is very interesting to follow. This is because he is the 3rd Governor of Papua who was democratically elected by the Papuan people in the era of special autonomy.

Lukas Enembe was born in Mamit village, Kombu District Tolikara, Papua, on July 27, 1967. This Papuan politician is known to have spent his childhood in the area and his real name is Lomato Enembe.

For education, Lukas Enembe took his first education at SD YPPGI Mamit and successfully graduated in 1980. After graduating from that school, he then continued his education at SMP Negeri 1 Jayapura in Sentani. Lukas Enembe was declared graduated in 1983. Lukas Enembe then entered SMA Negeri 3 Jayapura in Sentani and graduated in 1986.

Lukas Enembe is known to be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in college. Precisely in the Department of Social and Political Sciences, at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Sam Ratulangi University, Manado. In addition, he also continued his studies at The Christian Leadership & Second Leanguestic at Cornerstone College, Australia. During his studies, Lukas Enembe was known as an active student. This is evidenced by the organizational activities that he participates in. Lukas Enembe was a Chair of the Jawijapan Students of North Sulawesi in 1989-1992, and was a administrator of SEMAH FISIP UNSRAT Manado in 1990-1995.

As previously mentioned, Lukas Enembe is the 3rd Governor of Papua in the era of special autonomy in Papua who was directly elected by the people democratically. However, before leading this province he had to go through a long and winding process. At first, Lukas Enembe pursued a career as a State Civil Apparatus (ASN) at the  SOSPOL Office of Merauke Districtsince 1997. Then, he took permission to continue his studies in Australia until 2001. After accomplishing  his studies in Australia, Lukas Enembe began to build and pursue career as a politician. He was noted to have been Deputy Regent of Puncak Jaya for the period 2001-2006.

Lukas Enembe himself is the 13th Governor of Papua since 2013. As a leader, he has a vision for Papua to rise and be independent. Under his leadership, Papua Province’s Original Regional Revenue (PAD) has reached hundreds of billions and even trillions of rupiah. This value is obtained from regional taxes, regional redistribution, the results of regionally owned companies and separated regional wealth management, as well as other legitimate PAD. Referring to the databooks, Papua’s PAD was recorded at one trillion rupiah in 2017. In 2018 the number decreased to 924 billion. The province’s PAD increased again to 938 billion rupiah in 2019.

As a regional head, Luke Enembe’s wealth will certainly be one of the things that people pay attention to. Based on the State Administrators Wealth Report (LHKPN) at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), which was reported on March 31, 2022 for the 2021 Periodic, Lukas Enembe’s total wealth reached IDR 33,784,396,870.
