Law Enforcement Against the Provocation and Hate Accounts at Papua

goodmorningpapua.com – The police arrested the owner of Facebook account of Enago Womaki, with the initials HG. HG was arrested concerning with his uploading which was suspected of inciting the spread of the issue of the massacre or genocide of the Papuan people. This followed the designation of the Papuan KKB as a terrorist by the Indonesian government.

The Head of the Task Force of Nemangkawi Public Relations, Kombes Iqbal Al Qudussy, said that the arrest was made on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at a Mess Ridje Camp, Barak U, PT Freport Mile 72, Tembagapura, Mimika Regency, Papua.

“The National Police will continue to enforce the law against accounts of provocation causing the hatred and enmity based on SARA,” said Iqbal when confirmed, Thursday (6/5).

According to Iqbal, the perpetrator wrote on his social media account on April 20, 2021, that the Indonesian government was not selective in dealing with conflicts in Papua. The indigenous Papuans will be eliminated because all of them are labelled as KKB.

“He posted ‘All Papuans in Papua, Sorong to Merauke be careful going in and out since, we, Papuans are the views of the Republic of Indonesia in terms of TNI-Polri, BIN, BAIS, Kopasus and others, their view is that we are all TPNPB. / OPM, because their goal is that all OAP in Papua must be destroyed / spent on their own land, “he explained.

On that basis, the suspect was subject to Article 45 a paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph 2 of Law Number 19 of 2016 on the amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 regarding violations of ITE.

“Currently, the suspect is going to the Mimika Police for examination. Digital forensic examination of evidence and in coordination with the suspect’s lawyer and experts,” Iqbal asserted.
