KPK Participates in Realizing Papua Clean and Dignified

goodmorningpapua.com – A coordination was immediately carried out by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) with relevant agencies to control assets in order to realize the ideals of Papua Terang [Bright Papua].

A Deputy Chairperson of the Corruption Eradication Commission, Nurul Ghufron, said that the three relevant agencies in question were the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/BPN, PT PLN Persero, and the Provincial Governments (Pemprov) of Papua and West Papua.

“ATR/BPN certify land throughout Indonesia, PLN’s assets must be ensured so that they are not threatened or disturbed. Meanwhile, West Papua also has the same dream, namely the Bright Papua program,” said Ghufron during the Coordination Meeting of the PLN Asset Certification and the Bright Papua Program in Manokwari, Thursday. (9/6).

Ghufron explained that the legal aspect of PLN’s land assets must be a point of concern, both from a business and juridical perspective.

“Don’t let the land that has been controlled by PLN and built electric substations will lead to disputes. This is detrimental to PLN and hampers the Bright Papua Program,” said Ghufron.

Through this coordination forum, the KPK hopes that the three related parties are open to each other about the problems they are dealing with and seek joint solutions to make the Bright Papua Program successful.

All parties must also be involved and jointly resolve the problem in the right way, comply with customary procedures, and comply with administrative procedures.

Asset rescue is one of the focuses of KPK’s work through the Deputy for Coordination and Supervision. This is an effort to save potential state financial losses arising from disputes or the use of state/regional assets by other parties in ways that violate the law.

The PLN Asset Certification Coordination Meeting and the program of Papua Terang were attended by representatives from the three relevant agencies. These include the Mayors/Regents of West Papua, Heads of Regional ATR/BPN Regional Offices throughout Papua and West Papua, as well as regional secretaries for districts/cities throughout West Papua.
