Komnas HAM: KKB Persecution Deters Development and Harms Papuans

goodmorningpapua.com – These several days, the Armed Criminal Group [KKB] has carried out violence against teachers to motorcycle taxi drivers at Beoga Districts, Puncak, papua. The National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) sends a team to attempt something for KKB to stop violence.

The way the such team conveys its appeal was to coordinate with local figures of the place in which the KKB was located. Civilians must be protected. KKB must not attack those civilians. Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) Andi Taufan Damanik states that the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) that often carries out attacks has disturbed the development of Papua.

“Komnas HAM always asserts, ‘stop this violence!’. Because it harms to all parties there, it deters the development that is being carried out by the national or regional government,” said Andi Taufan Damanik.

Andy Taufan Damanik syas that he has send a team to Papua concerning with KKB action attacking civilians again. Stated that Komnas HAM dispatch a team to Papua for giving input to the police there, so that they takes action against movement undertaken by KKB.

“Indeed, there have been a lot of such acts, for what? Because KKB is ever spreading”, said Damanik in statement. In his opinion, for the KKB act, his party often talks to both TNI and Polri leaders so as they can cease the violence perpetrated by KKB
