goodmorningpapua.com – The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) succeeded in exporting 2,533 kg of Papuan tuna to the Japanese market.
This export cannot be separated from the cooperation between the KKP and the Biak Numfor Regency Government through a quality assurance process to PT Indo Numfor.
“Alhamdulillah, we have both witnessed the export of tuna from Biak to Japan,” said a Head of the Jayapura Fish Quarantine, Quality Control and Fishery Products Safety (BKIPM) Suardi in a written statement received in Jakarta, Thursday.
Suardi expressed that the potential of the Earth’s Cenderawasih fishery is extraordinary. He hopes that the delivery to the country of Sakura will be a momentum as well as a stimulus for other business actors to participate in exports.
“Hopefully this export will be the beginning as well as inspiration for other business actors, and of course we are always ready to assist,” he said
He ensured that the Jayapura BKIPM staff were always ready to assist and provide assistance in terms of quality assurance so that business actors in Papua, especially in the Jayapura BKIPM working area, could penetrate the international market.
BKIPM services include the issuance of hazard analysis and critical control point (HACCP) certificates to good fish quarantine methods (CKIB).
The certificate is a guarantee of the quality and quality of fishery products in the international market.
Previously, the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, hoped that fishery business players would be able to compete and exist in the global market.
He also instructed his staff to facilitate fisheries business actors both in mentoring, certification, profiling market potential, to strengthening the role as quality assurance of the products produced by business actors.
