Kandowarira Village Mothers Talk About Floods

goodmorningpapua.com – The residents of Kandowarira Village came to the Yapen Islands Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) office. They complained about the frequent flooding in their village.

The residents, consisting of women, complained that the handling of the impact of the flood by the Yapen Islands Regional Government had not been completed.

Wona, another resident of Kandowarira Village, said that there are still many houses around the riverbank that are threatened by flooding. It was recorded that there were 4 houses damaged by floods and landslides, due to prolonged rains.

“We are worried that if it rains all night we don’t even sleep, being afraid that the house will collapse. We ask that this side of the road be improved immediately,” Wona said to members of the council.

Separately, a Yapen Deputy Regent Frans Sanadi said he would handle the flood problem in Kandowarira Village as soon as possible. In fact, Frans has visited the location directly accompanied by the assistant and executor of the duties of the Yapen Regional Secretary.

“Today we will unload heavy equipment, we ask the Yapen DPRD member, Pak Roy Palunga to send this heavy equipment to fix it. Residents must also participate in mutual cooperation,” he said.
