goodmorningpapua.com – President Joko Widodo recently inaugurated the Papua Football Academy (PFA) at the Lukas Enembe Stadium, Jayapura Regency, Papua (31/8/2022). In addition to the PFA which was inaugurated, President Jokowi has also carried out groundbreaking the Papua Youth Creative Hub, a creativity center for Papuan youth, to be exact last October.
The Jokowi government’s commitment to development in the land of Cenderawasih is shared by a millennial figure from Papua who is also President Jokowi’s Special Staff, Billy Mambrasar. As stated by him, President Jokowi has a strong commitment to developing superior human resources in Papua and West Papua.
He revealed the first statement President Jokowi made to him during a special staff meeting at the Palace regarding President Jokowi’s optimism regarding Indonesia becoming a developed country. “Mas Billy, I am sure that Indonesia will progress rapidly, because I see the young generation of Papua, as the last part of this country, has progressed, developed and done a lot of innovations, and they can certainly encourage the acceleration of our country, I am optimistic!,” he said, imitating President Jokowi’s words Tuesday (7/9/2022).
Billy emphasized that President Jokowi has a strong commitment to develop Papua, not only from the aspect of infrastructure, but also much more important is to develop Papuan people. PFA and the Papua Youth Creative Hub are one of the efforts to build a means to manage the birth of great Papuan and West Papuan human resources.
“The central government supports the development of a creativity center to provide more space for Papuan and West Papuan youths in developing human resources and Papuan local products,” he explained.
Billy assessed that a series of significant changes have occurred in Papua, such as infrastructure acceleration, the construction of the magnificent Youtefa bridge in Jayapura, the fast-connected Trans Papua road, to the holding of PON XX, the holding of the 2021 National National Tournament. In addition, there are several youth-based accelerated development programs Papua and West Papua.
“Training young Papuan and West Papuan farmers in the Millennial Farmer program with the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, the Papuan young talent data collection program through the program: Papuan Talent Management, and the development of non-formal learning centers at various points in Papua and West Papua, with a total of 96,000 Papuan youth who have been reached through these programs. These are some of the programs that the President ordered me to do,” he continued.
On the basis of Jokowi’s government policies and programs, Billy believes that this can bring Papua and West Papua to greatness. “Pak Jokowi advised that the task of developing Papua is not only the work of one or two persons. We all have an equally important role. The trick is to never stop working, do whatever it takes to get a good education and be optimistic that it’s not just: People Can! But also: Great People,” he concluded.
