“Later, the Jayawijaya Regency Agriculture Service through the Papua Provincial Agriculture Office to rehabilitate 100 hectares of damaged coffee plantations,” said Jayawijaya Regency Agriculture Service Head, Hendry Tetelepta, Tuesday, February 1, 2022.

So far, said Hendry, the demand for coffee from Jayawijaya Regency is quite a lot. Unfortunately, this condition is not matched by coffee production of farmers who now need support for plantation expansion and repairing the damaged coffee plantations.

“There are 165.3 tons obtained from 2026 hectares of coffee plantations existing today, so that harvest yields and production for 2021 to increase by producing Grain Coffee [Kopi Gabah] of 60 thousand-80 thousand per kilo and Rice Coffee [Kopi Beras] reaching prices of 100-120 thousand per kilo, “explained Henry.

Hendry added that his party had coordinated with related agencies to develop coffee farmers in Jayawijaya Regency. Meanwhile, the implementation in the field is the duty of the Jayawijaya Agriculture Office to become the Rice Coffee.

“For this marketing, the packaged coffee has been marketed to 11 cafes at Wamena City,” said Hendry.
