Jayapura Regional Government Gives House Bonuses for 12 Athletes with Achievements

goodmorningpapua.com – The Jayapura Regency Government gives house bonuses to 12 athletes from Jayapura who excel in the national and international sports level.

The house bonuses for outstanding athletes were handed by Jayapura Regent, Mathius Awoitauw, witnessed by a number of leaders of the Jayapura Regency Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD), Jayapura KONI and Papuan housing manager Rainbow Doyo Baru.

“Today, we hand over the house to outstanding athletes and on behalf of the government and society. We express our gratitude for the struggle of the athletes who have fought on their own, for that we give our appreciation,” said Jayapura Regent Mathius Awoitauw, Wednesday, October 13, 2021.

According to Mathius, many athletes who have excelled in making the name of the region proud in the national and even international arena, are not paid attention to. This causes the spirit of athletes to be dim.

“The Jayapura Regency Government has thought about it and is trying to give awards to the athletes as a form of appreciation. This house is on land owned by the local government,” he said.

Mathius explained that this house prize from the government is dedicated to outstanding athletes in individual sports, because they have fought alone to reach the best achievements.

Meanwhile, the Jayapura Government will consider the outstanding group athletes. “Today we are just starting, (and) actually this house is nothing compared to what they have done for the region and this nation,” he said.

Erni Sokoy, a gold medal-winning athlete at the 2013 Myanmar Sea Games expressed her deep gratitude to Government of Jayapura for paying attention to former athletes from Jayapura Regency.

“I am very grateful and express my gratitude to the Regional Government, because since becoming athletes from 2003 to 2016, it is the first time we have been given such an extraordinary appreciation,” he said in touched.
