Increasing Papuan Human Resources Potential, a German Embassy Visits Babrongko Village, Jayapura

goodmorningpapua.com – In order to improve the Natural Resources (SDA) and Human Resources (HR) in Cenderawasih Earth, the Counselor for cooperation in the construction of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany-ASEAN visited Babrongko Village, Jayapura Regency, Papua Province, Thursday (11/8/2022).

The Counselor for cooperation in the construction of the German-ASEAN Embassy of the Federal Republic of Indonesia, Oliver Hoppe, said his presence in Babrongko Village, Jayapura Regency, Papua Province was a form of cooperation between the German and Indonesian Governments at the village level.

“I am here to see the extent of our cooperation in improving forest management by the community in accordance with the Climate Village Program (ProKlim) which has been carried out with the Forestry and Environment Service of the Papua Provincial Government,” Oliver explained to goodmorningpapua.com, in Sentani, Kabupaten Papua. Jayapura.

He is very happy to be in Babrongko Village, Jayapura Regency, Papua Province because he can learn firsthand about the customs and culture of the local community

He hopes that the visit can produce great things in the Proklim that have been carried out by the Governments of Germany and Indonesia.

Meanwhile, a Head of the Papua Province Forestry and Environment Service, Jan Jap Ormuseray, added that his party was only accompanying the Counselor for cooperation in the construction of the German-ASEAN Embassy for the Federal Republic of Indonesia, Oliver Hoppe to see the ongoing cooperation that had been carried out by the German Government and the Papua Province.

For him, in Babrongko Village, a forest management group has been formed, accompanied by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit Gmbh (GIZ).

The results are several excellent programs, such as sago cultivation, processing of sago flour, sago caterpillars, kembow trees which are processed into carvings, and several other potentials.

The results of the visit will be used as an evaluation material for the Counselor of development cooperation at the German-ASEAN Federal Republic Embassy to improve natural and human resources in Babrongko Village, Jayapura Regency, Papua Province.

“If this program is successful, it will be expanded to other villages in Jayapura Regency, Papua Province, so that sustainable development in the context of community empowerment can continue to run well,” he said.

Meanwhile, Yo Ondofolo (Chief of the Babrongko Village), Ramses Wally, added that the community was very proud because there was a visit from the Counselor for development cooperation at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany-ASEAN to their village.

“We hope that this visit can generate superiority and natural potential in the village, such as the potential of Tilapia fish which can be managed into shredded, sago and so on,” he said.
