The talents and creativity of these young people are expected to grow rapidly with the functioning of the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) building located in Wahno Village, Abepura District, Jayapura City, Papua Province. The construction of the PYCH building initiated by the Inspirational Young Papuans (PMI) itself has reached 73 percent.
PMI representative, Elia Musa Rawar or familiarly called Moses Rawar (28), said the building would later be used by all young people in Papua to develop their potential.
“Hopefully the creativity that has been owned by young Papuan friends can appear on the national and international stage,” said Moses when visiting the location, Tuesday, August 23, 2022.
Also present in reviewing the location of the building was BIN’s Deputy IV for Economic Intelligence, I Gde Made Kartikajaya and his staff. Then, PMI General Coordinator Billy Mambrasar, a Head of the Papua Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center, Directorate General of Human Settlements, Ministry of PUPR, Corneles Sagrim and the implementing contractor PT Nindya Karya (Persero).
Moses said the Papua Youth Creative Hub building is a mansion that has the most complete facilities in Papua. These facilities can be used for co-working space, space for learning technology, digital technology, concert hall, space for product innovations, dormitories, and sports facilities.
“This facility is open to all young friends in Papua, from anywhere we are welcome, because Inspirational Young Papua stands for Papuan friends,” he said. Moses expressed his gratitude to President Joko Widodo and Head of BIN Budi Gunawan for helping young Papuans to have infrastructure to support the foundation of community welfare development in Papua.
The groundbreaking of the PYCH building was conducted by Jokowi in October 2021. a Head of BIN Budi Gunawan also gave a speech at that time.
Meanwhile, Cornelis Sagrim said the construction of the PYCH building had reached 73 percent. Construction of this building began in October 2021 and has accelerated from the planned completion in December 2022 to October 2022. “Our progress is 73 percent. President Jokowi is planning to inaugurate this building,” he said.
The main building area is around 3,520 square meters and the supporting buildings are 1,812 square meters. The PYCH building will also be equipped with a dormitory building or dormitory room as well as a parking area with a capacity of 53 cars, 154 motorbikes and landscaping.
Besides, Cornelis said the architectural design of the building was inspired by traditional houses in Papua, namely the Kariwari traditional house and the Honai traditional house.
