Great, Papuan Athletes of Muay Thai Join a National Training [PELATNAS] of Vietnam Sea Games – Four Papuan athletes of Muay Thai who won gold medals at XX PON 2021 joined the National Training Center (Pelatnas) for the XXXI Vietnam Sea Games. Those athletes will undergo the national training in Jakarta and Bogor from November 1 to May 10, 2022.

The 4 athletes are Jackson Karmela in the 57 kg class, Lambert Yaresitouw 60 kg, Lea Flourey Wikari 48 kg and Tiara Lai Manonggang in the waikru category. These 4 athletes will leave for Jakarta this coming weekend.

A head of the Papuan Muay Thai Pengprov, Kenius Kogoya, thanked the opportunity given to Papuan athletes.

“Hopefully they can also make Indonesia proud at the Sea Games,” said Kenius Kogoya when contacted via his mobile phone, Thursday, October 28, 2021.

Kenius Kogoya who is also the General Secretary of KONI Papua Province hopes that other Papuan athletes will get the opportunity to make the Indonesian nation proud at the event.

In addition to the 4 Muay Thai athletes, a technical trainer from Papua, Iswandi Iwan Putra, will collaborate to prepare Indonesian athletes for the XXXI Sea Games in Hanoi, Vietnam in May 2022.

Later, Indonesian Muay Thai will compete in five prestigious numbers at the Vietnam 2022 Sea Games.
