Government Continues to Provide Affirmation Scholarships for Papuan Students

goodmorningpapua.com –  The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) provides educational affirmation scholarships (Adik) for students from Papua and West Papua.

“The government provides educational affirmation scholarships (Adik) which are intended for students from the 3T area, in Papua and West Papua,” said Head of the Education Financing Service Center of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Abdul Kahar.

The Adik Scholarship is one of the affirmative educational policy interventions in the form of government assistance to provide opportunities of learning for students due to the conditions and affordability of access to higher education.

For 2021, continued Kahar, the Adik scholarships given are those from Papua and West Papua, 3T and children of Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI).

For senior high school level, specifically for Papuan and West Papuan students, the government provides secondary education affirmation scholarships or Adem.

He explained that through the Adik scholarship aid scheme, the government provides educational assistance for students from Papua and West Papua with a full affirmation assistance scheme both related to selection and financing schemes.

The ADIK scholarship assistance scheme in 2021 consists of ADIK scholarships for students from Papua and West Papua either recommended by the local government, ADEM student pathways or who register independently.

For students coming from special regions (3T) and TKI children, follow the Adik selection scheme. However, the financing follows the KIP Lecture scheme. Students with disabilities can come from all college entrance selections, and participate in financing with the KIP Lecture scheme or the Adik scheme through university proposals.
