goodmorningpapua.com – PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) provided a bonus to the Papuan men’s soccer team who succeeded to win a gold medal at the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON).
The gold gain was achieved by the Papuan men’s soccer team after winning in the final defeating the Aceh PON football team at the Mandala Jayapura Stadium, Thursday 14 October 2021.
PTFI President Director Tony Wenas handed over the bonus to the men’s soccer team at a hotel in Hamadi, Jayapura City on Friday 15 October 2021.
“We appreciate the hard work of the XX Papua PON soccer athletes who have won gold medals. PT Freeport Indonesia is also committed to provide a bonus of Rp. 1 billion,” Tony explained.
Tony admitted that in the final soccer match, he brought along 50 supporters representing Freeport Indonesia employees to watch the match live at the Mandala Jayapura Stadium.
The gold medal for the PON XX Papua football team by defeating the PON XX Aceh football team with a score of 2–0.
Providing of the bonuses to the Papua PON football team is expected to be a motivation for the players to continue to improve their achievements and work hard to continue to excel in the world of Indonesian football.
“With the bonus given by PTFI, it is hoped that it will be a motivation for Papuan athletes to continue to train hard and fight harder, in order to make achievements,” said Tony.
