goodmorningpapua.com – Religious leaders from the Forum for Religious Harmony (FKUB) support Papuan children to register for the Noken National Police. Then, they will take care of the area. Pastor Lipius Biniluk appreciated the steps taken by the Papuan Police in recruiting members from the children of indigenous Papuans (OAP).
“So, later they will be assigned to their respective regions,” said Rev. Biniluk in Jayapura City, Papua, Monday (12/27/2021). He hopes that the Papua Provincial Government will continue to provide support as was done in the 2021 recruitment process. There are 2,000 native Papuan children who become NCOs for the National Police through Bintara Noken.
For his view, indigenous children who were born and raised in Papua better understand local customs. Not to mention the number of police officers assigned to Papua is still limited. The chairman of the Papuan MUI, KH Syaiful Islam Al Payage, fully supports the Bintara Noken program to fill the shortage of police members at the police stations in Papua.
“We, religious leaders, will support the steps taken by the Papuan Police for the sake of creating security and peace in the Land of Papua,” said Kiai Syaiful. The Papuan Police have recruited 2,000 youths to become members of the National Police who were educated in 18 SPNs in various regions. After that they will be placed at the regional police station of the assignment region.
