goodmorningpapua.com – The State Intelligence Agency (BIN) encourages the Keerom Regency DPRD, Papua Province and Bank Indonesia Papua Representatives to support the work program of young people who are members of the Papua Muda Inspiratif (PMI) in food security. This food security is in an effort to improve the welfare of the people in Papua.
A chairman of the Keerom Regency DPRD, Bambang Mujiono said his party would encourage various offices in the Keerom Regional Government to work together in the PMI work program. Bambang will also encourage the existence of a budget for PMI, including a budget for food security in the fields of plantations, fisheries and other work programs.
“Our support is in terms of budgeting and by mobilizing all sectors responsible for program implementation at PMI,” said Bambang at a restaurant on Jl. Raya Abepura-Kotaraja Kota Baru, Wai Mhorock, Kec. Abepura, Jayapura City, Papua, Thursday (22/9/2022).
Bambang conveyed his support after holding a meeting with BIN’s Deputy IV for Economics, Gde Made Kartikajaya and PMI, along with their staff.
PMI is under the guidance of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) of the Republic of Indonesia to accommodate young Papuans to develop their creative ideas to develop Papua so that the acceleration of prosperity on Earth of Cendrawasih can be realized.
According to Bambang, President Joko Widodo is also encouraging the Keerom area to develop a food estate. The PMI program fostered by BIN is very relevant to the district’s responsibilities. Keerom, especially in the cultivation of corn and its processing products.
“Incidentally, Keerom Regency also received a program from President Jokowi for the development of a food estate of 3,000 hectares of corn,” he said.
Bambang encouraged all institutions to collaborate with PMI for the realization of accelerated welfare for the Papuan people.
Meanwhile, a Head of Bank Indonesia Papua Representative, Juli Budi Winantya, expressed his readiness to support the PMI program, especially in implementing food security.
However, July has not conveyed the type of BI support to PMI. It is because, it is still in the assessment of the appropriate program with the type of assistance.
“We can’t go into details yet, we also have to study it, but the keyword is we support PMI which is fostered by BIN, because this is in line with empowering the economy and food security in Papua,” he said.
Juli also stated that the output of the PMI program in the fields of fisheries, plantations and others could help the community’s finances. So that people’s purchasing power increases and the inflation rate can be minimized.
According to July, BI itself has the task of controlling inflation. “From our point of view, it is good because we are responsible for controlling inflation, controlling prices, especially food prices,” he concluded.
