goodmorningpapua.com – Tears of emotion colored the return of 7 speed boat passengers who had lost contact while traveling from Serui to Miosnum Village, Yerui District, Yapen Islands, on Sunday, October 16, 2022.

The group was greeted with joy by the families of the passengers when they arrived at Kampung Mariade Serui. Not only the family, the reception was also carried out by the Acting Regent of the Yapen Islands, Cyfrianus Mambay.

Even the Yapen Islands Regional Secretary, Erny R Tania, was also present with the Yapen Police Chief AKBP Herzoni Saragih, Dandim 1709/Yawa Lieutenant Colonel Inf Catur Prasetiyo Nugroho and a number of members of the Yapen DPRD.

“We are grateful for the return of the family and husband, after 4 days of lost contact,” said the wife of Mochtar Raubaba, one of the speed boat passengers, Saturday, October 22, 2022.

The acting Regent of Yapen, Cyfrianus Mambay immediately directed the seven passengers to check their health at the hospital. He also appealed to the public to be more careful when traveling by sea transportation.

“We led them to immediately check their health at the hospital, I also urge the public, if you want to travel using sea transportation, first check all the equipment and also the weather,” said Cyfrianus.

Previously, a speed boat with 7 passengers was reported missing while traveling from Serui to Miosnum Village, Yerui District, Yapen Islands, on Sunday, October 16, 2022.

The seven passengers were found safely stranded in the waters of Roswar Island, Yomber Village, Teluk Wondama Regency, West Papua, Thursday, October 20, 2022.

They survived thanks to the help of fishermen who were looking for fish around the waters of Roswar Island. The seven passengers were Mochtar Raubaba (34), Efrida Worabai (68), Herlina Worabai (71), Ortizon Raubaba (32), motorist Alferd Heipon (40), Brian Berotabui (21) and Gabriela Raubaba (12).
