The Regent of Yapen Islands, Tonny Tesar, in his speech read by the Head of the Windesi District, Simon Silotes, said that the laying of the cornerstone could be interpreted as a religious response to the 110th anniversary of the entry of the Bible in Munggui Village.

This momentum, he continued, also cannot be seen as an ordinary ceremonial activity, but must be believed in as a sign of God’s participation and approval of the intentions of his people in building an altar for the glory of his name.

“I advise you to continue to work together, to support each other so that church construction can be carried out properly,” said Simon Silotes.

For your information, the laying of the cornerstone was witnessed by a number of church leaders, including the North Yapen GKI Classical Working Body, the Chair of the North Yapen Classical PHMJ, God’s servants from the Windesi District Church Denomination.
